Classifications

This product can be categorized into five types:

  1. Regular Straight Optical Shaft (SF): It’s high surface hardness makes it suitable for contact with straight bearing points. Material choice and heat treatment method are vital here.
    • Material: SUJ2 (Equivalent to GCr15).
    • Hardness: HRC60±2.
    • Hardened Layer Depth: 0.8-3mm.
    • Surface Roughness: Ra0.10m-Ra0.35m.
    • Straightness: Below 70um/1000mm.
    • Outer Diameter Tolerance: G6.
  2. Chrome-plated Straight Optical Shaft (SFC): This type has an additional hard chromium layer and can be used in environments prone to rust or those with poor conditions. It is widely used in industrial robots and automatic sliding system devices.
    • Material: SUJ2 (Equivalent to GCr15).
    • Hardness: HRC60±2.
    • Hardened Layer Depth: 0.8-3mm.
    • Surface Roughness: Ra0.10m-Ra0.35m.
    • Straightness: Below 70um/1000mm.
  3. Chrome-plated Soft Shaft (RSFC): This type, with its thicker chrome plating, can be used directly for precision piston rods and some self-lubricating bearings due to its moderate hardness.
    • Material: 45# or 40Cr or 2Cr13.
    • Hardness: HB220-260.
    • Hardened Layer Depth: 0.8-3mm.
    • Straightness: Below 0.15mm/1000mm.
    • Chrome Layer Thickness: 0.02-0.05mm.
  4. Stainless Steel Straight Shaft: This type offers high corrosion resistance, strength, and abrasion resistance for efficient performance. It’s especially useful in oxidation-prone environments such as water, chemicals, steam, seawater, etc.
    • Material: SUS404C, SUS304.
    • Hardness: HRC60±2.
    • Hardened Layer Depth: 0.8-3mm.
    • Surface Roughness: Ra0.10m-Ra0.35m.
  5. Chrome-plated Hollow Shaft: This type, thanks to its hollow structure, significantly reduces weight and simplifies structure. Its interior is suitable for threading measurement wires, compressed air, adding lubricating oil, or use in robot arms.

Applications

The Straight Optical Shaft is widely used in industrial robots, various electronic devices, guide rods, drive shafts, and columns. It’s utilized in sectors like electronics, packaging, chemical medical, textiles, printing, engineering, transportation, steel, mining, hydraulic oil cylinders, gas cylinders, operating rods, adjustment rods, linear motion, automation devices, and more.
